Have you ever heard the story of the cobbler whose own children have no shoes?

That's so the story of my life...as my own kids are the last ones I ever get to photograph.

So, I was very happy to snap a few new photos of them.

It is always an adventure when you take photos of good friends...especially kids who spend as much time at my house as these ones do.

Rather than cajoling them into smiling...I had to threaten them with kisses. It worked.

I've been wanting to do a super hero inspired shoot...and Andrea and her family were game. It was so fun.

I always enjoy when things are fun and playful.

I love fall.

It's beautiful and crisp and the absolute perfect time for photos.

I took Emma and Steve's family photos a year ago...and they invited me back to do this year's.

They have added one more to their family and my oh my, but I adore her.

Isn't she precious?

I love shooting little families...with little kids.

You spend a lot of time making funny noises and trying to get the kids to look at you at the same time and smile...it's so worth it.

Seriously...how cute is this family? And the kids? Oh the kids!

And can I just tell you...how wonderful it was to see a couple who love each other as much as Emma and Stephen?

It's been a long time! I took most of the summer off to spend time with my family...but I am back into the swing of things and have quite a few images to post...as well as several sessions coming up.

I am so excited to post about this AMAZING shoot I did with Travis and Melanie. We had this idea for a vintage photo shoot...complete with newsboy caps, bow ties, and red red lipstick.

I cannot believe how much I love these photos.

I always like to say how enjoyable my photoshoots are...and how good the kids are when we do the shoots...because honestly, I love what I do...and it really is fun.

But...Angela wanted me to make sure I tell you the truth about her photo shoot.

Really, I had fun. I promise. And I thought the kids did really well...you know how it is to get 5 small children all looking in the same direction at the same time. I thought they were troopers, and Ezra was a dream.

I am still editing this wonderful wedding...but I have finished with the morning photos. It was 10 degrees outside, but these two managed to warm things up. So cute.

The hardest part of the photo shoot (besides the cold) was getting Billy to take his eyes off his bride long enough to look into the camera.

First off...can I just say that this was positively the MOST gorgeous location. Seriously.

I had the opportunity to do another maternity shoot...it must be in the water.

Tamee is VERY pregnant -- did I play that up enough Tamee? But...still stunning.

I am having so much fun with these senior shoots, I can't even say.

This new shoot was with Carson, and can I just tell you how much I liked this young man? Seriously. Totally cute. Totally sweet. What more could you ask for?

Plus, he was up for trying a few more funky, urban settings, which was a blast to shoot.

So, prepare yourself was a little Carson overload...cause I had a really hard time narrowing it down!

Well, I finally finished editing the wedding and reception photos I took last week...it would all go so much smoother if my real life didn't get in the way. LOL!

But really...I love how silly and sweet the reception was. Erika and Aaron were so adorable. There's lots of good serious shots, but I thought i'd go with a few of the silly ones.

The reception was so pretty...and I just had to show off the amazing flowers my friend Emily put together. Aren't they gorgeous?

Where Did the Time Go?

Holy cow. I flew back to St. George over the weekend so I could attend my niece's wedding. She was just this tiny little thing when Troy I got married, and now she is a grown woman, starting her own family.

It was just a lovely wedding, and my sister-in-law put together the most amazing reception. I also had the privilege of shooting the wedding with my wonderful niece-in-law, Katie. If only she lived closer...I know we would be great business partners!!!

Anyway...there are so many wonderful photos, but I especially love how the black and whites came out.

We had three kids go on sleepovers this weekend, a science fair, a pampered chef party, and two birthday parties...I put almost 200 miles on the car just driving around town.

The Wedding { LDS Washington DC Temple }

With all the craziness of this week, it was lovely to go to the temple yesterday and attend Janae and Kyle's wedding and take the photos.

I was super nervous, but Janae and Kyle were so happy and relaxed, it was such a great day.

It rained, but luckily, not too hard. It was super nice to have Andrea there as my assistant and second shooter. I really loved the variety of angles were able to capture shooting together.

I love getting those good shots...the family and bride and groom in front of the temple, but I think the highlight (for me) is to really capture the details of the day. I hope I did.

I had a little photo shot yesterday and it was fun, although bitterly cold.

Here is a little sample of the family. We may have to try this again, on a day when their youngest might smile and take his coat off. I still think they came out well.

And, I was able to do my first set of engagement photos...it was so fun. I am so happy for this cute couple!

Had a little photo shoot with the Kunz Family this morning.

I thought it went well...even with a three-year-old that cried the entire time.

I still have a lot to learn, and there are things that I think I could have done better...but I still really like how the photos turned out.
